This Privacy Policy explains how EventLens (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website eventlens.ai and our event photo-sharing service (the “Service”). We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What data we collect
- Account data: name, email address and password when you create an account.
- Event content: photos, videos, voice messages and captions uploaded by you or your guests.
- Payment data: processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.
- Usage data: device, browser, IP address and interactions with the Service, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use your data
- To provide, operate and improve the Service.
- To create and manage your account and event albums.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To communicate with you about your account, updates and support.
- To analyse usage and improve performance and security.
3. Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of the performance of our contract with you, your consent (for example for optional cookies and marketing), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and to comply with legal obligations.
4. FaceAI and biometric data
If the Host enables FaceAI, faces in uploaded media may be detected and grouped. Depending on use and jurisdiction this may involve biometric or sensitive personal data. Such processing takes place on behalf of and under the responsibility of the Host, who is responsible for the required legal basis and any explicit consent. You can contact the Host or us to exercise your rights regarding this data.
5. Sharing your data
We share data only with trusted service providers who help us run the Service (such as hosting, storage, analytics and payment processing), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and event albums are stored, and only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may also withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Event albums can be kept private and shared only via the unique link or QR code you control.
